In Paper IO 2, you draw lines outside the land, then close them to turn them into your territory. Each line can be an opportunity to expand or a risk of being eliminated by opponents.
Your goal is to expand your land as much as possible, even aiming for 100% of the map area. The cube can be moved using the mouse, arrow keys, or the WASD keys. When driving outside the safe zone, draw a line to close this line and turn it into a new territory.
Control a small square across the map to expand your territory
You and your opponents both leave tails when outside the territory. You can knock down your opponents and gain an advantage by touching their tails. Conversely, if they feel the line you are drawing, you will be eliminated immediately. In Paper IO 2, the moving space becomes narrower as the map and the number of players or bots increase, creating a higher risk of collision and losing territory.
When closing the circle, choose the shortest route to avoid exposing your tail, helping you be safer and better control the expansion progress. You should expand gradually in small areas to minimize the risk of being cut off while prioritizing the protection of your larger territory before attempting further expansion.
Always observe the opponent's path to find the time when they leave the safe zone and counterattack. If the map becomes crowded, focus on strategic locations in the corners or edges of the map to reduce the number of directions attacked, while creating a long-term advantage in controlling the area.
